Dakota seals partnership with Sumo for the supply of all-in-one PCs into NHS Trusts
7th December 2015
We are pleased to have recently expanded our product portfolio with the addition of medical grade all-in-ones computers from Sumo Technology. Sumo all-in-one (AIO) units will appeal to NHS Trusts looking for mobile and flexible computing solutions to improve patient care.
Sumo AIO units come in 3 screen sizes: 19", 22" and 24" TFT-LCD with capacitive touch options. Fitted with integrated hot-swappable batteries and high performance processors (Intel® Celeron® or Core™ i-series CPU), these units can redefine the use of computers-on-wheels within the Trusts.
With requirements evolving for the use of IT systems in wards, theatres and clinical areas, having a standard base unit and monitor fitted to a powered cart is no longer proving to be the most cost effective solution.Hot-swappable industry standard batteries eliminate the need for costly external batteries and helps decrease downtime.
Medway NHS Foundation Trust introduces AIO touch screen PCs to eliminate hardware encryption issues
I contacted RDP Health as The Medway NHS Foundation Trust had an urgent requirement for 10 lockable drug dispensing cabinets capable of housing an all-in-one PC to form a Computer On Wheels. The project had a strict and challenging hardware budget but also required high-specification PCs for use on a Chemotherapy ePrescribing project whilst ensuring they were still useable after a few years as various systems’ demand for resources on the PCs increase as they inevitably will.
RDP Heath work closely with Dakota Healthcare, who market the battery-operated Sumo all-in-one touch screen PC, which seemed perfect for our needs but having just experienced hardware encryption issues with an alternative product the Trust was keen to test the Sumo’s suitability to our standard encryption software. Dakota quickly provided a trial unit and allowed us to configure it to the Trust’s standard build, which was successful.
The combination of the RDP dispensing cabinet and the Sumo PC from Dakota meant we had a first class hardware solution at a cost within the Project’s budget. The service provided by both Dakota and RDP Health from enquiry to order fulfilment has been excellent and their effective relationship was self-evident throughout.
