Employee Spotlight Of The Month: Jonathan Daly – Account Manager (Healthcare Solutions)
15th March 2022
Welcome to the thirteenth of our ‘Employee Spotlight of the Month’ interviews! At Dakota, we believe that everyone within our organisation plays an equally important role in making the company what it is today.
Each month we will be sharing an interview with a member of staff in order to showcase their key responsibilities within the business and the benefits which they offer to our valued customer base.
This month we spoke with Jonathan Daly, Account Manager (Healthcare Solutions), to find out more about his role within Dakota.
1. How long have you worked at Dakota and how long have you been in your current role?
I have worked at Dakota in my current role for the past 6 years.
2. What does the role of Account Manager (Healthcare Solutions) at Dakota involve?
The role of an Account Manager is multi-faceted. An essential part of my job is that I set the foundations for and continue to build upon the relationships with my customers whilst becoming their trusted advisor and the first person they turn to for their digital data capture requirements. In order to achieve this, I need to ensure good communication with my contacts, even if it means delivering occasional bad news regarding something which is out of my control.
3. What key attributes do you believe you need in order to achieve success within your role?
To achieve success within my role I believe that I need to be organised in order to juggle multiple ongoing opportunities whilst managing my customers’ expectations, particularly as a result of the current supply chain challenges. I also need to be honest and act with integrity at all times.
4. What do you enjoy most about your role at Dakota?
I really enjoy working with the Dakota team whilst enjoying the freedom we have to make judgements on how best to service our patch. Dakota has undergone a lot of changes this past year which has presented me with the opportunity to learn new skills. We have also just launched Voice-Care, a new ground-breaking solution for the healthcare sector, which is very exciting.
5. What are the most challenging aspects of your role?
At the moment, the most challenging aspect of my role are the issues with the supply chain that we are currently experiencing, which is playing havoc with stock availability. We have to do our best to forecast and make gut calls on what we need to order in advance so we don’t let our customers down. The ever-changing NHS landscape can also present its own challenges as well as the transient nature of decision-makers within the NHS.
6. How do you believe that your role positively impacts our customers’ experience?
My customers know that I am always available to lend a hand and will help them out with any issue, big or small. It is vital for them to know that once we have put a solution in place, whether it’s a mobility or asset tracking solution, my customers know that I am always here and can be relied upon. I also like to keep up to speed with all the latest technologies so that I can offer the most fit-for-purpose and future-proof products and solutions to our customers.
7. And finally…..please give us an interesting or fun fact about yourself
When I was a child, I won Junior Tarzan two years in a row at Butlins – I was local paper famous!
