'Partner Spotlight Of The Month' - An Interview With The Config Team

Welcome to the first of our ‘Partner Spotlight of the Month’ interviews!

In the past, we have brought you customer, vendor and staff interviews, so now we thought it would be interesting to see what our partners have to say about us!

This month we spoke with Paul Fraser, Head of Sales at The Config Team, to find out his thoughts on all things Dakota!

1. How long have you been in your current role at The Config Team?

I joined The Config Team back in January 2020. However I had previously worked with The Config Team due to shared customers from warehouse automation projects in my previous role.

2. Can you tell us more about The Config Team?

The Config Team are SAP supply chain specialists and have been around since 1994 with head offices in the North West of England and a regional office in Australia. We specialise in the design, development, implementation and support of innovative SAP supply chain solutions that deliver an integrated end-to-end process for our global customer base. We offer consultancy services and support, as well as a range of leading SaaS products that help make SAP easier to use.

3. What does your role within The Config Team involve?

I am Head of Sales which involves managing our various sales teams (new business, product, support and strategic accounts) as well as working extremely closely with our wider departments including delivery, support and product teams. My real passion still lies within working with our end customers to help guide and inform their future SAP digital transformation journeys and identify real value-added procedures into their operation processes. 

4. How long have you known the team at Dakota?

As a recognised provider of Mobile and Printer solutions, I have personally known Dakota for long time, but from The Config Team perspective, the relationship goes back to 2017, where we first started to collaborate on joint customer projects, introducing our supply chain mobility solution (PreBilt™) along with Dakota’s excellent warehouse hardware knowledge.

5. What is Dakota like to interact with on a business basis?

The team at Dakota are a really good bunch, very easy to work with and always available which is great. Like The Config Team, they are very customer-focused, have great industry knowledge and know their products inside and out. 

6. What attributes does The Config Team require when seeking strategic partnerships with businesses such as Dakota?

When we are looking for strategic partnerships or looking to review existing ones, a key attribute is company culture. As a business we are extremely collaborative and work to deliver the best solution for our end customers, not just what would be easiest for our business. Working with a partner who shares this same approach is vital for us. 

7. What benefits do you think Dakota contributes to The Config Team’s overall solution offering?

Our most recent joint projects have predominately focused on voice-enabling our PreBilt™ software platform. Dakota’s extensive knowledge of the use of voice within warehouses and manufacturing sites has been a huge benefit to how we are delivering these solutions. 

8. What are Dakota’s specific USPs?

An in-depth industry knowledge accumulated over a twenty-year history has afforded Dakota the ability to provide high levels of agility when it comes to dealing with complex and demanding deployments which address the supply chain challenges which many companies are facing today. Dakota’s desire for growth and innovation is reinforced by the team’s strong work ethic and its need to consistently provide exceptional levels of customer service to not only meet but exceed its clients’ requirements.

9. And finally, what do you hope the future holds for The Config Team’s relationship with Dakota?

Our combined strength in IT and hardware will enable customers to streamline their processes, increase user engagement and productivity whilst enhancing operational efficiencies, and we are very much looking forward to all parties continuing to work together to further innovate SAP supply chain processes in the future.
