'Partner Spotlight Of The Month' - An Interview With Truckfile
21st November 2022
Welcome to the second of our ‘Partner Spotlight of the Month’ interviews!
In the past, we have brought you customer, vendor and staff interviews, so now we thought it would be interesting to see what our partners have to say about us!
This month we spoke with Paul Whittingham, Managing Director at Truckfile, to find out his thoughts on all things Dakota!
1. How long have you been in your current role at Truckfile?
I joined Truckfile in 2006 as Sales & Marketing Manager before taking on the role of Operations Director and more recently in September 2021, the role of Managing Director.
2. Can you tell us more about Truckfile?
Truckfile was established in 2006, initially to provide a Vehicle Inspection Solution. The system has developed over the years to become one of the leading Fleet Management Systems in the UK, providing a DVSA-accredited solution for vehicle fleet operators, workshops and vehicle manufactures.
3. What does your role within Truckfile involve?
As Managing Director, I oversee all aspects of the company, working closely with our Development, Sales, Project, Support and Account Management Teams, ensuring that we provide our customers with cutting-edge technologies backed up by high-quality customer experience and support.
4. How long have you known the team at Dakota?
We started working with Dakota around two years ago.
5. What is Dakota like to interact with on a business basis?
The team at Dakota are great people to work with. They are friendly, professional and they will always go that extra mile to help make the projects which we work on together successful.
6. What attributes does Truckfile require when seeking strategic partnerships with businesses such as Dakota?
When looking for a strategic partner to work with, it is vital for us that we share similar values and goals when delivering new projects. Working with Keith, Phil and the wider team at Dakota has been a pleasure, as both companies share those values and goals to deliver a high-quality product that not only meets but exceeds the customers’ requirements. Dakota has also worked with us to evolve the solution by listening to the customers and taking their feedback on board, which is not something that all companies endeavour to do, so their flexible approach is very refreshing.
7. What benefits do you think Dakota contributes to Truckfile’s overall solution offering?
Dakota has many benefits, but on our current project specifically, their knowledge around voice-enabled products and solutions has been invaluable to us to enable a successful outcome for the customer.
8. What are Dakota’s specific USPs?
Dakota has many strengths, however their specific USPs include an in-depth knowledge and experience of voice-enabled applications which has been built up over several years. Experienced project teams and key people who are easy to work with and who understand the complexities of delivering cutting-edge technologies into existing and new markets has proved invaluable.
9. And finally, what do you hope the future holds for Truckfile’s relationship with Dakota?
With our combined strengths in delivering state-of-the-art technologies that improve efficiencies, productivity and improved safety, we look forward to a long and successful relationship with Dakota across a number of existing and new markets in the years to come.
